2009 Santa Fe Coaching Staff

 

Bruce Gowen
Head Coach

Coach Gowen is entering his 24th year of teaching and coaching. Coach Gowen is entering his 15th season at Santa Fe High School and 1st season as Head Coach.

Bruce is married to Cindy and just celebrated 29 years together and have three daughters. Jenny, married to Ross Anderson, teaches and coaches volleyball at Edmond Memorial. Ginger is a sophomore at the University of Central Oklahoma and is on the Bronchos volleyball team. Mindy is a senior at Santa Fe and plays volleyball and runs track for the Wolves.
 

Roger Pfieffer
Offensive Coordinator / Quartebacks

Coach Pfieffer is a 1992 graduate of Yukon High School. He attended Oklahoma State University where he was a three year letterman on the football team and earned his Bachelor of Science degree. This is Coach Pfieffer's 10th year at Santa Fe High School teaching Psychology and Oklahoma History. Coach Pfieffer is Offensive Coordinator and will continue coaching the quarterbacks.

Roger and his wife, Shannon, have two sons, Scott 6 and Carter 4; and one daughter, Tracy Addison 3. 

James Edwards
Defensive Coordinator / Defensive Backs

Coach Edwards is in his 14th year of teaching and coaching, including nine years at Santa Fe High School. James is a graduate of Oklahoma State University and the University of Central Oklahoma. Coach Edwards is Defensive Cooridinator and will continue coaching the defensive backs.

 

James and his wife, Stacy, have two children, Peyton 12 and Jace 9.

 

Andy Rasmussen
Offensive Line

Coach Rasmussen is a graduate of Jones High School and the University of Central Oklahoma. He received 3A All-State, All-City and All-District honors at Jones. Andy played football at Bethel College in Kansas. This is Coach Rasmussen's 14th season at Santa Fe High School, including nine years as Offensive Line coach. Coach Rasmussen is in his first year of teaching at Santa Fe High School.

 

Andy and his wife, Stacie, have one son, Drew 10, and two daughters, Raimie 8 and Maggie 5.

 

 

Owen Wilson
Defensive Line

Coach Wilson is a graduate of Millwood High School, the first 3A State Championship, Class of 1990. Owen received 3A Lineman of the Year and All-District Honors. Owen attended Southeastern Oklahoma State University. This is Coach Wilson's 9th season at Santa Fe High School, coaching the Defensive Line.

 

Owen and his wife, Tanaka, have three children, Karrington 10, Ethan Owen 7 and Paisley Wilson 4.

Wes Crosson
Defensive Ends

Coach Crosson is in his 5th year of teaching and coaching and his 4th year at Santa Fe High School. Wes played football at Southwestern College in Kansas. Coach Crosson will be working with the Defensive Ends.

 

Wes and his wife, T.J., have one daughter, Avah 2.

 

 

Joe Peeler
Running Backs

Coach Peeler is a graduate of Southwestern Oklahoma State University and Choctaw High School. This is Coach Peeler's 7th season at Santa Fe High School and will be coaching the running backs. Coach Peelor is also the Wolves Boy's Soccer coach, where he coached the Wolves to their first State Championship last year.

 

Joe and his wife, Dandy, have been married 6 years and have one daughter, Kailee Sue, 3.

Dane Miller
Wide Receivers

Coach Miller is a 2004 graduate Santa Fe High School. Dane is recognized as one of Santa Fe's best receivers in school history, holding several individual and career receiving records. He was a 2004 All-State WR and attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University on a football scholarship.

 

Coach Miller is entering his 2nd year of coaching at Santa Fe High School. After one year coaching the freshman, Coach Miller will be working with the wide receivers.

 

 

 

Matt Heath
Outside Linebackers

Coach Heath is a 2004 graduate Santa Fe High School. Heath, spent two seasons at Division II Emporia State, before finishing his collegiate career at the University of Central Oklahoma. As a four-year letterman and member of the 2003 Santa Fe State Runner-Up team, Heath received Honorable Mention All-State selection, also picked up All-District, All-Conference, 6A All-Star Team, First-Team All-Edmond and was named team's Defensive Player of the Year as a senior.

 

Heath was a member of the 2008 Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz AF2 organization, averaging 8 tackles per game.

 

Coach Heath is entering his 3rd year of coaching at Santa Fe High School. After two years coaching the freshman, Coach Heath will be working with the Outside Linebackers.

Tim Draper
Freshman Head Coach

Coach Draper is in his 11th year of coaching and his 2nd year at Santa Fe High School, 1st year as the Freshman Head Coach. In addition to his Freshman coaching duties, Coach Draper is the Wolves Head Wrestling Coach.

 

Tim and his wife, Dixie, have three children, daughter Brooke at Boise State University, Cade, a freshman at Oklahoma State University and Chad, a freshman at Deer Creek High School.

 

 

Kurt Thomas
Freshman Assistant Coach

Coach Thomas in his 3rd year of teaching and coaching at Santa Fe High School, and wil be working with the freshman.

 

 

Chris Helling
Freshman Assistant Coach

Coach Helling in his 1st year of teaching and coaching at Santa Fe High School, and wil be working with the freshman.

 

 

Jake Smith
Freshman Graduate Assistant Coach

Coach Smith is in his 3rd year as a graduate assisitant coach for the Wolves and will be working with the freshman.
